February 1 – March 31, 2027
ZETRA Black History Month Public Safety Training Initiative
Reduced-rate scenario-based training for law enforcement agencies and individual public-safety personnel nationwide.
Practical skills for difficult, high-pressure encounters: communication, de-escalation, language barriers, disability response, and community interaction.

Special Black History Month Rates
Reduced-rate sessions
Agency pricing is a flat session price for up to 25 personnel — not a per-person fee. Individual enrollment is available through scheduled live sessions and is not limited by agency-session availability.
| Training Session | Individual Price | Agency Price (up to 25 personnel) |
|---|---|---|
| Beyond the Words: Language Barriers, De-escalation & Decision-Making in Public Safety4 hours | $55per person | $295flat |
| De-escalation in Practice4 hours | $55per person | $295flat |
| Communicating with People with Disabilities2 hours | $35per person | $195flat |

These rates are separate from the year-round 2027 Founding Agency Program, which offers a different standalone session (limited to the first 10 agencies, credited toward a future course) on a different set of topics. The two offers don't overlap and an agency can use either one.
Featured Session
Beyond the Words
Language Barriers, De-escalation & Decision-Making in Public Safety

A scenario-based training session focused on encounters involving language barriers, confusion, fear, interpreter use, and rapidly changing circumstances.
Participants practice communication and decision-making strategies using ZETRA's CLEAR and PAUSE frameworks.
The session focuses on an important operational distinction: understanding why someone is behaving a certain way and deciding the appropriate lawful response are two different questions.
The training supports an agency's existing policies, procedures, officer-safety practices, and professional judgment. It does not replace them.

Honoring Black History Month Through Service
Practical training, not a history seminar
ZETRA is using this two-month initiative to recognize Black History Month through service, professional development, and investment in practical public-safety training.
The goal is not to turn law-enforcement training into a history seminar. Instead, the initiative provides participating agencies and personnel with access to reduced-rate training focused on practical skills that can influence how public-safety personnel communicate, respond, and serve the communities they encounter.
